• What is the pin weight capacity?

• Is the Freedom Hitch System a trailer?

No, it is a load assist device

• How are the brakes controlled?

The hydraulic disc brakes of the Freedom Hitch are set when you set the brakes on the trailer with a single brake controller at the driver’s position. The Freedom Hitch automatically integrates the tow vehicle brakes, the Freedom Hitch brakes and the trailer brakes.

• Do I need to register it?

No DMV registration is required.

• Can this be used on a half-ton truck?

Yes.

• Does it increase towing capacity?

Freedom Hitch maximizes the vehicles towing capacity by removing limitations set by payload capacity and braking ability. We recommend you stay within manufacturers’ gooseneck towing capacity.

•  What hitch is needed?

Our 3-receiver truck frame extension attaches to the rear underside of vehicle with the same hole pattern as your class 5 hitch.

• Can I still pull a bumper pull trailer with my truck?

Yes. Our middle receiver is certified as a class 5 hitch.

• Will it work with lifted trucks?

Absolutely, it was built to solve bedrail clearance issues.

• Can I still use my truck bed?

Yes, the Freedom Hitch mounts behind the truck, keeping your entire bed free.

• How is backing up with Freedom Hitch?

You back up with the Freedom Hitch the same as you do with trailers in the bed of the pickup. There is only one pivot point.

• Does your system conform to Canadian and USDOT Requirements?

Yes! The Freedom Hitch conforms to all applicable USDOT requirements. Quebec province considers the Freedom Hitch as part of the trailer, and all remaining provinces consider the Freedom Hitch as part of the truck.
