Since buying my new Freedom Hitch, I find myself driving down the road more comfortable and relaxed. The trip with my new Freedom Hitch was the easiest and most stress free trip I have had in years. I have been pulling good sized trailers for many years, and since buying my new Freedom Hitch, there is no more worry about stopping when someone pulls out in front of me. Your product is great for the blood pressure and less stress on a person’s heart!

—S. A., Colorado

I mention the Freedom Hitch maybe saving my life. I fell asleep on a narrow road, with a very steep bar ditch, while going 70 mph. I was on the steep slope of the ditch when I woke up. As I woke up, I did the worst thing a person could do. I had jerked it hard back toward the road. Keep in mind, the ditch was very steep! There is no doubt in my mind, with no trailer I would have rolled, with the trailer hooked in the bed I would have rolled. It did not even come close to rolling, didn’t fishtail or whip. I did end up crossing the center line into the oncoming lane, luckily no one was coming! By the way, on the road to my ranch, where the bar ditch isn’t this steep, on average 1 person gets killed a year from that exact situation …. Running off road and overturning, in both passenger cars and oil field semi trucks.

While traveling at 65 plus miles per hour, a sizable object fell off the truck in front of us. Had it not been for the increased stability and controllability the Freedom Hitch gives us, we would not have been able to swerve around that object period. With the size of that large seemingly metal object, had we been forced to drive over it, I am sure considerable damage would have been done to our vehicle.

—J.G., Oklahoma

Living in a hilly area with narrow roads, other people pulling trailers did not want to pick up my horses because the roads were so steep and winding. Even larger delivery trucks would refuse to come to our place. With the Freedom Hitch I was able to justify buying a gooseneck trailer myself. I can very comfortably navigate the steep tight winding roads while pulling my long slant 3 with living quarter’s horse trailer.

While I was pulling our 35 foot trailer with my mother accompanying us, she suffered a heart attack as we were arriving at our destination. Because of the added maneuverability with the Freedom Hitch, I was able to maneuver the trailer through the crowded hospital parking lot to take my mother to the emergency room door. Had I not had your Freedom Hitch I would not have ventured into the parking lot at all.

—A.D., Idaho

Having equipped all the ranch trucks with your triple receivers, our youngest employee, a 19-year-old female, was able to hook up our largest stock trailer to a ½ ton pickup and transport three horses to where they needed to be 200 miles away. She was able to drive as if there was no trailer behind her. She even commented that it was like driving without pulling a trailer at all.

—D.E., Florida

We check cattle for TB for our State Agriculture Department. Your Freedom Hitch enables our State Agriculture Department to pull our heavy gooseneck trailer over rough terrain. If the driver ends up getting the trailer stuck in deep mud or high centered on berms, they simply disconnect from the Freedom Hitch and the Auto Recovery System pulls the trailer out, saving us time and aggravation.

—J.I., State Ag Department

Traffic on the highway was at a stand-still. We were pulling our 38 foot trailer and took an off -highway detour through a residential neighborhood having winding and narrow streets with cars parked occasionally on either side. I was able to maneuver safely and without incidents. We could have never done so without the extra maneuverability the Freedom Hitch gives us.

—M.R., Florida

Pulling my long, living quarter’s horse trailer is so much easier with the Freedom Hitch. While driving through town, I no longer have to swing way out in the left hand lane to make a right hand turn. I have not rolled over any curbs or anything else since we got the Freedom Hitch.

—A.G., California

We bought the Freedom Hitch because we planned to RV full-time around the country with four young children, and safety was of the utmost concern. Since our tow vehicle would also be our main source of transportation, we didn’t like the idea of getting a dually. The Freedom Hitch has been a tremendously helpful device in making our 35-foot fifth wheel more stable, overall safer and has erased our need for dual rear wheels. (We can park in crowded mall parking lots!) We have since driven almost 5000 miles with the Freedom Hitch through all kinds of terrain and have found that it has more than lived up to its claims. The extra set of brakes has set our minds at ease – boy do they work! (At one point, we believe those brakes enabled us to slow down fast enough to avoid a wreck when exiting the highway at too high a speed!) The inventor, Engineer Joe Jamieson, devoted six years of his life designing this hitch, and it certainly shows. There is nothing on the market that even comes close to this design.

The other highlight of our experience with the Freedom Hitch has definitely been the superior customer service. We’ve never experienced anything like it, to be honest. This company has held our hand and guided us through every step in using the Hitch, as well as advising us in using our RV, going well beyond the call of duty. Usually when you send the check to a company, that’s the last you hear from them. Not so here. Anyone who buys an Freedom Hitch also buys easy access and expert help from a tireless staff. In a nutshell, we are truly impressed.

To all prospective buyers of The Freedom Hitch… I can’t say enough good things about this product and the customer service that has been provided by this team! I have had my Freedom Hitch for a little more than a year now and it has changed my life. I pipeline for a living so I travel all across the country with my family. We had a special 5th wheel built so that my family and I could have a bit more room when we are on the road. My current 5th wheel is 53′ long and with the way my truck is loaded with the welder and all my tools I weigh just under 39k between the truck and trailer.

automated-safety-hitch-is-awesome

I get a lot of questions from other truckers and and from people in general asking how I’m able to pull the load I have and how I’m able to get in and out of the RV parks we go to because of the size of my rig. It’s all thanks to the hitch! I can make I tighter turn with my 53′ 5th wheel attached to the Freedom Hitch than I ever could with our previous 40′ toy hauler hooked up in the back of my truck! Everything about the safety hitch is amazing, but the thing I love the most is the extra breaking power (probability because it saved me from driving through a bunch of vehicles when there was an unforeseen slowdown on the freeway)! I had my cruise control set a 70mph on the freeway when suddenly all the cars in front of me slammed their breaks on…if it wasn’t for the extra breaking capacity of the safety hitch I wouldn’t have been able to stop in time. After putting on thousands and thousands (…and thousands!) of miles on the road with the Freedom Hitch I have come to the conclusion…I would never want to pull anything without it again!

While keeping up with traffic traveling at a high rate of speed down a long steep mountain grade, our engine quit on a new truck with less than 4,000 miles leaving us with no truck brakes. We feel so fortunate having your product with its full hydraulic disc brakes to enable us to make our way to the right hand shoulder and come to a safe stop. June and I especially appreciate having the Freedom Hitch’s brakes since trailer brakes have failed us on a number of occasions. Therefore, we both feel that your product probably saved our lives or at least prevented us from having a very serious accident.

—M.M., Virginia

Your Freedom Hitch may be the safest way to pull a gooseneck trailer. Not having one ourselves at this time, my wife and I observed two good sized trailer rigs going over a rise in the highway at the same time. The trailer in the left hand lane was passing the right hand lane trailer rig. We observed both trailer brake lights illuminating at the same time. We also, upon reaching the crest of the hill, observed the trailer in the right hand lane skidding somewhat uncontrollably, impacting the 18 wheeler and car accident in front of us. The trailer slid sideways into the left-hand lane. Fortunately, the left hand trailer, even though it was going at a greater speed since it was passing the right hand lane traffic, had stopped completely straight, and in a short distance, saving it from being involved in the same accident. It also avoided being hit by the right-hand lane trailer as it slid and swung across the left-hand lane.  The trailer in the left hand lane was equipped with your Freedom Hitch.  My wife and I have ordered one of your units because we both agree that we will not be pulling any trailer without your Freedom Hitch.

—T.F., Illinois

There is a good sized list of why my wife and I are glad we bought the Freedom Hitch. Because of the seriousness of a situation, I am taking time to share this significant situation with you.  While traveling on our last vacation, the extra braking power and controllability became very evident.  We were passing a truck and trailer combination, very similar to ours, as we both arrived at the summit of a small hill. Upon cresting that hill, it seems as though we both hit our brakes at the same time because of the tremendous truck and automobile wrecks in front of us. At the same time I hit the brakes, I became concerned of the trailer next to me because it was starting to fishtail. After having never been in a max braking situation before with the Freedom Hitch, it was amazing how quickly we stopped and how straight we stopped. Unfortunately for the rig next to us, that did not have a Freedom Hitch, they did not stop in time ending up as a part of the pile up.  Had we not stopped where we did, not only would we have crashed head on into the pile up. We both sat there in perfect silence as the trailer that was in the right-hand lane jack-knifed into the left hand lane where it would have wiped us out.

—T.M., California

Hi! How is everything going? We made it home and turned around and went to Michigan. We love the Freedom Hitch. Was totally glad we had it.  Some jerk swung into my lane when I was passing him, and we had to do the lock down. Smoke was rolling from all the tires. I know it helped.  My wife even said that if we didn’t have the Freedom Hitch, we would not have gotten stopped.  Also, when we were driving in the mountains,  it gives you a lot more security for going down the hills.

—JP, Florida

The traffic light turned green just as we were approaching an intersection.  Even though a car in the other lane had made it through the intersection, as we approached it, a car from the right hand side ran a red light. We hit the brakes and stopped slightly passed the hold line with the trailer straight behind us without any fish tailing. It was as if the trailer was part of the same frame as the truck. Had we not had the Freedom Hitch brakes, no doubt we would have crashed into the car.

My Daughter and I were headed to register her for a show and were running late. Driving during a rainstorm, I took a wrong turn and ended up on a dead end two lane country road. There was no place to turn around.  The GPS signal was low and we didn’t know our location.  I would have had to back up more than a mile. How fortunate I was to have another option.  With the pouring rain, the ditches were full of water, so I pulled to the right as far as possible and started to turn around.  After turning around as much as I could with the trailer, I disconnected the Freedom Hitch from the truck and finished turning the truck around.  I then used the Auto Recovery System to pull the trailer around successfully. The trailer tires never left the road. Reconnecting our Freedom Hitch and trailer to our truck with a push of the button, we quickly made it down the road and to registration on time.

While my husband was out of town, I had to make an emergency trip to the vet with one of our prized horse. With our trailer sitting in the mud, how wonderful it was to just walk our trailer out of the mud and to my truck sitting on the driveway pavement.  Thanks to your wonderful Freedom Hitch, utilizing its self recovery system prevented me from having to attempt hooking up the trailer in the mud and likely getting the truck stuck as well. According to the veterinarian, we could have lost our horse had I not gotten her there as quickly as I did.

—H.B., West Virginia

With your Auto Recovery System, I was able to let the winch pull my trailer out of the snow and mud onto the driveway and hook up to the truck in minutes. This was fabulous, no rocking my truck back and forth.  Even though we have a 4-wheel drive pickup, there was no need to put such wear and tear on the truck and possibly getting stuck.

This is all about room for 2 adults, two children and one 197 lb. English Mastiff. Our choice vehicle was a 3/4 ton 2012 Chevy Suburban capable of hauling 9400 lbs. Next was a 35 foot Fusion toy Hauler weighing 12000 lbs.

Ok now how do I haul a fifth wheel with a Suburban . I get on the web start searching ,up pops Freedom Hitch. I sent multiple emails and they answered all my questions, the main one being will this work? The answer was yes, making my decision do I buy a new diesel truck to use 8 to 10 times a year and leave the dog at a kennel simple. The price comparison being $70,000 for a diesel truck or 10 to $11,000 delivered for the safety hitch. My other half answered that real quick that the dog is going with us. Called Joe the next morning and ordered the hitch. Worked out all the details with Joe Jamieson which turned out to be a pleasure as he answered all my calls and stood behind everything he told me. I received the unit in the middle of the winter. I was impressed at the detail this unit has with the steerable axle, the winch to hook up the unit and the 16 inch tires with brakes. This unit does as it says Safety. So let me sum this up, I just traveled 1,800 miles with this new safety hitch and I have to say it did everything I wanted to do. I’m Impressed, it stops great, it turns so much better I got in and out of spots with a 63 foot long set up that I never thought I could and I used my Suburban to do it all.

After using [The Freedom Hitch] I’m hooked even if I change vehicles I will still use this safety hitch. My thanks to Joe Jamieson for all the help and for building a quality product.

Remembering when we had to replace our tailgate by backing into our gooseneck coupling. Our friends recently had to replace their tailgate for the same reason at a cost for almost $2000. We once again appreciate our Freedom Hitch for preventing such occurrences and expenses in the future.

—H.C., PA

While we are enjoying the added safety and money that the Freedom Hitch is saving us, how unfortunate it has been for my best friend whose husband allowed the trailer dealer to talk them out of getting an Freedom Hitch.  Unfortunately, within a month of getting their trailer, her husband jack-knifed in reverse sufficiently to cost nearly $9,500.00 to repair the damage to their trailer and truck. With the Freedom Hitch, John and I are able to jack-knife our trailer and truck nearly 130 degrees.

—P.S., Florida

While originally thinking that I could not justify the cost of the Freedom Hitch to pull my $19,000 trailer, how fortunate it was that I bought your Freedom Hitch realizing that I was operating a $190,000 rig. (The value of the truck, trailer and my two well trained dressage horses).  Last week while driving down a winding wet road, I had to slam on the brakes when a truck pulled out in front of me. Not only did we stop before impacting the offending vehicle, we did so under complete control. Had we not had the Freedom Hitch, I am sure that we would have ended up in the ditch, jack-knifed or worse. You’re product is worth every dollar to save my horses, myself and preventing damage to my truck, trailer and other people.

—A.A., Virginia

Thank you for supplying our Freedom Hitch with quality tires.  While buying a new horse trailer from a reputable manufacturer, we had to replace all four tires on our trailer in less than 18 months. The Freedom Hitch tires still look new.  We bought our trailer and Freedom Hitch at the same time.

—S.M., California

The Freedom Hitch is the first product in a very long time where I feel like I got my money’s worth.

—G.L., Tennessee

Thank you for having a high quality product at an affordable price. When my husband and I first saw the Freedom Hitch at the Hersey, PA show, my husband, being an automotive engineer, examined your product and figured it was going to cost from 16 to 18 thousand dollars.  Actually costing half of  what we expected, enabled us to afford getting one, and I have been enjoying and appreciating it very much. I have been pulling my horses without incidents for almost two years now.

—L.B., West Virginia

Congratulations on your design! Being an automotive engineer, I compliment you on your designing of the self steerable axle. There are still many in the Automotive Industry who do not realize auxiliary axles under heavy pay load must be self-steerable, otherwise the integrity of tires, bushings and other suspension components will be compromised. We have been getting very little help from trailer manufacturer and much instruction and technical service from the Freedom Hitch staff. We appreciate your technical services with your prompt, pleasant and knowledgeable service people. You folks have helped us so much with our trailer issues. Appreciated even more because, the trailer manufacturer and dealer are so lacking in their tech-service departments.

Being a competitive equestrian, I had been concerned about the effect the up sloped floor of the trailer, due to the truck’s tailgate height, has on my horse’s performance. A contributing factor to me purchasing your Freedom Hitch was the positive effect having a level trailer has on our horse’s performance.  Being able to have a lower trailer is also a plus for loading and unloading the horses without a ramp.  People do not seem realize that a sloped trailer adversely affects a horse’s performance.  Also appreciated are the accidents I have been able to avoid due to the increased braking capacity and controllability while going to and from the equine events.

—Marge K., Arizona

Having decided to buy the Freedom Hitch for my business, my suggestion is that you should advertise more prominently the importance of pulling a level horse trailer.  The comfort and stability while transporting and the performance of the horses at destination seems to be overlooked.  Too often I see trailers going down the road raised higher in the front.  People don’t realize a sloped trailer adversely affects the horse’s performance.

—S.B., DVM, Texas

Your Freedom Hitch probably saved my marriage!!!  I wanted a toy hauler for my 4-wheeler, while my wife wanted the extra living space in a new 5th Wheel R.V.  We were both firmly holding our ground to the point that I realized we wouldn’t be buying either.  Then we came across the Freedom Hitch and now have the best of both worlds, with the 4-wheeler in the back of the pickup and lots of living space.  Can’t thank you enough!

—B.B., Wisconsin

We travel quite a bit pulling a living quarter horse trailer.  I was getting tired of doing all of the driving, since my wife and a friend of hers preferred not to drive pulling the large trailer. With the Freedom Hitch, both my wife and her friend now drive comfortably pulling the trailer. Not only do I not have to do all of the driving, there are times when they take trips by themselves.

—J.W., Illinois

My wife is the equestrian, and I ride motorcycles.  The horses didn’t leave room in the back of the trailer for the motorcycle, so I did without.  Now, with the Freedom Hitch, my wife has her horses, and I have the motorcycle in the back of the pickup along with hay that used to be on the roof of the trailer, and everybody is happy.  But all of this is secondary to how much safer we now feel pulling the trailer with the Freedom Hitch.
